General Cable Acquires Speciality Cable Company in Jiangyin
 
General Cable has completed the acquisition of the assets and operations of specialty cable manufacturer Jiangyin Huaming Specialty Cable Co. Ltd based in Jiangyin City in Jiangsu province.  The new company, General Cable (Jiangyin) Co. Ltd, will employ 213 associates and manufacture specialty cables for the Chinese automotive and industrial markets.  Over the next 3 years General Cable will invest capital and introduce technology and manufacturing expertise to substantially improve the quality and utilization of the existing assets to significantly grow revenues.
 
Key management and staff are being retained in the new company and existing customer commitments and relationships will be unaffected. The new General Manager for the company will be Mr Xubing Xia, General Cable’s China Country Manager. Current Huaming Chairman Mr Jin will continue to be associated with the new company in an advisory capacity as honorary Chairman to ensure the successful establishment of the new venture.
